Gorillaz at O2 Academy Brixton

What a show. What a night.

Its crazy to think the tickets were released a week before the gig and they completely sold out in the presale.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to attend this and watch Damon Albarn and special guests come up on stage to perform a huge 26 song set list ranging from their newest songs from ‘Humanz’ (including some unreleased songs which I especially loved) and fan favourites, such as Dirty Harry, Feel Good Inc. and Demon Dayz.

The band had so much energy throughout the whole show, performing every song with fervour and spirit.

From the moment I heard ‘Girls Like Me’, I knew I was in for a winner.

This charming 19 year old mixes upbeat sounds with happy lyrics. After the release of ‘Beach…I Want To Make You Mine’, I was anticipating great things from his ‘Sweet Dreamer’ album. The album mixes a collection of slower songs as well as light hearted songs. His concert was fantastic, with the crowd going wild in the sweaty Heaven venue and cheering along to his well loved songs.

The Cribs at O2 Kentish Forum

The Cribs played in O2 Forum in Kentish town yesterday night and I think it was the best gig of my life. A bold statement, I’m aware. My 5 year old self would probably be questioning that and asking about how great it was to meet Charlie Simpson from Busted as a young ‘un. But this was wild. Sweaty, loud and messy. Everything that a truly good concert should be.

The moment they came on stage, the energy was wild. As they immediately started singing ‘Our Bovine Public’, the crowd was roaring. Everyone knew the lyrics to every song, with hands up in the air and moshing from every direction. Not a phone in sight, just pure pleasure from the thousands of sweaty people all enjoying a night of music together.

The band played their ‘Mens Needs, Womens Needs, Whatever’ album back to back with a few extra classics at the end, such as ‘Mirror Kisses’ and ‘Fairer Sex’. Every single song had the crowd wanting more and screaming their lungs out – I’m genuinely surprised my voice is still working today.

This was definitely a night to remember forever. It’s a true gem to find a band that still performs with passion and love with a crowd that is still just as excited as they were 10 years ago.
