Strawberry Oatmeal

Strawberry Oatmeal | Add A Little

I’m so happy you enjoyed the banana bread oatmeal recipe and tutorial, so I’m back with a delicious summery oatmeal recipe!

I have an addiction to oatmeal. I know it’s summer and super hot but oatmeal is so comforting and delicious and I’ve put a summery twist on it by using strawberries and my new favourite thing ever: BlendCo’s skin mix! (It seriously transforms bland oats to seiously amazing I-could-eat-oatmeal-forever kind of breakfast.)
I reviewed this company earlier this week and they are amazing!

These oats are super easy to make and I’m sure they would taste amazing if you added coconut milk to make them over night oats! (recipe below!)

Here’s the video tutorial, so be sure to check it out!

Also, just a side note but I’m off to Tokyo on Sunday but will still be uploading video recipes and recipes on this blog every week! And I’ll have some great posts when I get back, so don’t you worry!

Strawberry Oatmeal | Add A Little

Strawberry Oatmeal vegan, gluten free, dairy free
Serves 1

1 part oats
1 part water (you can also use non dairy milk, coconut milk or dairy milk)
Strawberries (reserve 2 to top your oats with)
1 tablespoon flaxseed (I used Linwoods)
1 tablespoon of BlendCo Skin Mix

optional: sweetener of your choice, such as honey or maple syrup (vegan). You can also use mashed banana if you want to keep it refined sugar free!

Pour boiling water over oats in a saucepan and cover with lid to soak.

While the oats are soaking, cut the strawberries into cubes.
Reserve 2, and cut into slices to place on top.

After about 5 minutes, the oats should have soaked up most of the water.
Add the flaxseeds and strawberries and cook on low heat until desired consistency.

Serve in a bowl and top with strawberries and loads a tablespoon of BlendCo Skin Mix.

BlendCo Skin Mix Review

BlendCo Skin Mix review | Add A Little

So I recently got to try out BlendCo’s Skin Mix and I’m so glad I did!

This product is so awesome! The company believes, just like me, in taking care of yourself from the inside and if you do, you will glow from the outside.

First things first, this tastes AMAZING (yes, cap locks and bold is definitely necessary) – the first thing I did when I received the package was open it up and eat it with a spoon. It literally tastes of coconut-ty sweet heave, with a hint of saltiness thanks to the himalayan salt (and I looooove anything sweet’n’salty).
I’m not really a fan of sweets or anything that tastes unnatural, but this has all organic, natural ingredients that balance each other perfectly!
It’s perfect on oatmeal, smoothies, yoghurt, fruit salads, chocolate – seriously it’s just an amazing flavour enhancer! Recipes will be up soon, so make sure to check back 🙂

Secondly, and probably more importantly, this stuff is so good for you (so practically guilt free)! Only filled with 6 ingredients and all super foods that will make you glow (no nasties)! As you can tell from the name, it’s great for skin.
It contains 6 organic super foods, which I’ve listed below.

Coconut helps absorb omega 3 and aids in crating collagen.
Pumpkin seeds are rich in many minerals and work with coconut for healthy skin
Cacao nibs protect skin from free radicals and prevent blood sugar spikes and increase seratonin.
Raspberry aid in digestion and circulation.
Acai protect from free radicals aswell and help fight signs on ageing.
Himalayan salt contains 84 (!!) minerals found in your body and balances electrolytes

Now thats what I call a superfood blend!

I would highly recommend checking them out as I really do believe it’s worth the money (I wish I could let you guys all taste how good it is!) and there’s free shipping worldwise – BONUS.

ps. Their website is fab too – they have loads of great tips for skin and some great recipes to try out.

Lemon Drizzle Cake and Exciting News!

Lemon Drizzle Cakes// addalittle

Ok, so I’ve got some news.

And it’s quite a big deal.

But I’m super excited an I’ve finally just been like “YOLO I’m going for it!” (please don’t hate me for saying that haha)

Anywayyyy, I HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL NOW!

It actually took me a while (probably longer than it should have, and I should have been revising :/) to do all the channel art, film the video and edit so it would mean the WORLD to me if you could check it out *sending virtual hugs and love* and it would make me feel like this.

So here’s my first video and I really super duper hope you enjoy it and tell me what you think in the comments below!

Obviously, I’m still going to be posting on the blog once a week but I’m going to try and film a recipe once a week as well!

Lemon Drizzle Cakes// addalittle

Lemon Drizzle Cake
Makes 6 cupcakes

For the cake:
1 medium egg (55g)
55g self raising flour
55g softened butter
30g sugar (you can use 55g, but I like to make it a tad healthier by adding less in)
Zest of 1/2 lemon

For the drizzle:
Lemon juice
Icing sugar

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Cream together the softened butter and sugar.

Add the egg and stir until combined and then add the lemon zest.

Add in half the flour and stir in until combined then add the other half but be sure to not over mix it or it will result in a hard cake.

Put the cake into the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

While the cake is baking, you can make the drizzle.
Mix the sugar and juice until it becomes smooth.

Once you take the cakes out of the oven, let them cool then drizzle the drizzle on top.

The cakes can be eaten straight away or (if you have the patience), eaten when the drizzle sets.
